School Improvement Plan 2019/20

We have recently reviewed our School Improvement Plan (SIP), following an Ofsted inspection in October 2019, in order to ensure continued & sustained improvements at Yew Tree Primary School. The new SIP was launched in January 2020 so parents/carers will be updated with key progress in the months following the launch.

The full plan is available to download below but, for your information, our Core Priorities for 2019/20 are:

  • Improve outcomes in writing, across the school, and ensure they match national attainment outcomes at the end of KS1 & KS2 (inc. a progress measure of at least zero at KS2).
  • Develop the quality of the non-core curriculum by sequencing learning so that pupils learn the right things in the right order and prior knowledge is built on.
  • Further develop leadership, at all levels, in order to ensure a sustained and strategic approach to school improvement.
  • Improve attendance so that this is in line with national outcomes and that there is evidence of closing the gap with the rate of persistent absence.

If you have any questions about our School Improvement Priorities then please do get in touch with a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
