Welcome to Year 4
We are really excited to get to know all of you and work with you and your child this year. We have lots of exciting things coming up during the year and this page will give you the key information you will need.

PE Days
Each class will have 2 PE sessions per week.
Please ensure PE kits are in school on the first day of each half term, these will be then sent home at the end of each half term. The PE uniform policy can be found on the school website.

Our Current Topic is
Misty Mountain Winding River
This project teaches children about the characteristics and features of rivers and mountain ranges around the world, including a detailed exploration of the ecosystems and processes that shape them and the land around them. This also includes an exciting visit to Sandwell Valley Nature Reserve.
Our Art Topic is
Vista
This project is linked to Misty Mountain, Winding River. This project teaches children about the techniques that artists use when composing landscape images, such as colour and atmosphere.
Homework
The main focus of our homework this year is Reading. Year 4 children should be reading for 20 mins, 5 times a week as per our homework policy.
Reading completed at home should be recorded on Boom Reader. If you are having trouble accessing this then please see your child's class teacher.
As Year 4 children will be completing a multiplication test this year, it is also important that they are practising their times tables. This can be done using the links below:
