Year Three

Welcome to Year 3

 

The year 3 team are excited to welcome you to the Yew Tree family and we are really looking forward to working with you and your child this year. We have lots of exciting learning opportunities planned. The staff that will be supporting your child in their learning journey this year are:
 
Teachers: 
              3A – Ms. Plant
              3B - Ms. Thompson
              3C - Ms. Feist
 
 
Support and Cover Staff: 
Ms. Hayes, Ms. Lappage, Ms.Kaur, Ms. Tonks, Ms Melia and Ms Mills.
 
PE Days:
Each class will be having 2 PE sessions each week:
              3A – Monday and Friday
              3B – Monday and Friday
              3C – Wednesday and Thursday
 
PE kits will need to be in all week and the PE dress policy can be found on the school website.
 
Music
Each class will be having a music session with Mr Sheperd on Tuesday mornings. The children will be learning to play the recorder. Recorders can be taken home for the children to practice however they must be returned every Tuesday for their music session.

Our Current Topic
Our new topic is 'Scrumdiddlyumptious'. In this topic the children will complete DT projects designing and cooking cereal bars, designing and making packaging and doing some food based drawings.

Children explore the tasty world of food, developing their knowledge of food groups, food origins, healthy eating and physical changes during cooking.
